| A wonderful day was had by all at the first 'Birch Haven Open Garden' for the Red Cross on Sunday March 18th, 2007 This beautiful garden was kindly opened for all to admire, with funds raised going to aid the fantastic work of the Red Cross. The day included a Red Cross plant stall, tap dancing demonstration, model train display, singing groups, and a wonderful display of artwork depicting the work of the Red Cross by children from Creswick Primary School, with competitions and prizes. White Lily Jewellery Design had a fantastic day, with the beautiful sunlight showing off the sparkle of all the collection. It was a great opportunity for us to talk to many people about their jewellery needs and we received some wonderful feedback on our gorgeous pieces and our huge range! The Creswick Girl Guides held a white elephant stall & the Creswick Light Horse Brigade held a sausage sizzle. Cathy from 'The Country Romantic', had a beautiful display of handmade gifts and cards. Some of Cathy's gorgeous craft can be found in a local craft cottage. Lyn from 'Dean Hall & Mechanics Institute Inc.' had an interesting story to tell about the newly renovated Dean Hall. The photos she displayed told of the hard work that has gone into restoring the hall. Lyn is actively organising a 'Ring of Roses' Easter Show at the Dean Hall & Mechanics Institute for the whole of the Easter weekend. The show will be open from 10am - 5.30 pm daily, Friday 6th April - Monday 9th April, 2007. Local Art Work and floral art will be on display, metalwork demonstrations, sculpture and many craft stalls to browse through. The Dean Hall is halfway between Ballarat andDaylesford, 19km north of Brown Hill, or take the Brown Hill - Daylesford exit off the Western Highway. For further information visit www.deanhall.com.au. Lynette, Mary Kay Senior Sales Director, displayed the wonderful Mary Kay skin care products and services. Lynette comes from Miners Rest, near Ballarat, and she specialises in Wedding and Debutante make-overs. She also helps many women with skin care analysis and complimentary beauty appointments. Her main focus is to enrich women's lives. Please Contact Us if you would like to be put in touch with Lynette. Douglas Sheridan Signs and Plaques showed a wonderful range of affordable concrete driveway entry signs, plaques and statues made to enhance your home, garden, or shop front. Most plaques are one off not re-created in their thousands. They are made of solid concrete and in a variety of colours. They look great in the garden and around the house. For further information visit www.affplaques.com. Overall the day was a glorious one for all who attended. White Lily Jewellery Design are proud to be a part of the first Birch Haven Open Garden for the Red Cross and we look forward to being involved in next years event. Leanne & Jennie |
